Lewis Fraser was delighted with the great win over Bruno’s Magpies on Sunday. Lewis spoke very briefly to our Digital Development Executive Ryan Lewis, before tucking into his celebratory pizza courtesy of club sponsors Hungry Monkey after the match.

A great 2-0 win over Bruno’s Magpies, you must be very pleased with the result on Sunday Lewis?
Absolutely delighted. It was a must win for us and i’m just glad we did our talking on the pitch. There was a lot of pressure on the boys and they stepped up.

Was yesterday’s win, in your opinion, the best performance of the season?
In our 2-2 draw against Europa Point we played some unbelievable football going forward, 2 silly defensive mistake cost us then. However we managed to get rid of the mistakes for yesterdays match and some of the football we played was simply brilliant. We controlled throughout.

The defence were solid and bagged an important clean sheet, how good were your back five in shutting out the Bruno’s attack?
The back five have in whole this season been pretty solid. It has been silly individual errors that have cost us so far, we have managed to get rid of these silly mistakes which meant they absolutely controlled from the back allowing our creative players to push on. We forced Bruno’s into playing very static, they got frustrated and started to play long which suited us.

You could have scored more had it not been for their goalkeeper, are your forward players starting to understand each other’s games nicely?
Apart from Jordan, I think the Brunos keeper is probably the best in the league. In the few games I have watched them he has kept Brunos in games, he certainly kept the score down with some fantastic saves. We identified a lack of urgency and penetration in the final third, we have worked on it the last couple of weeks and its finally starting to show. When we break with pace we are deadly, there is a lot of goals in our team!

No doubt you’ll be hoping to back this win up against Leo on Sunday?
If anything the Leo game becomes more important now. We must take this performance into the next game and not get complacent.
